What I liked

I loved the company culture Best Buy has. They created a wonderful environment full of great workers who always took the time to help me grow. They always treated me with as much respect as anyone else on the team, rather than just an intern. I never felt left out, and always felt like I was part of the team. Also, they do a fantastic job at bringing opportunities for development to their workforce, as there was always tons of different events/speakers throughout the day that you could benefit from.

What I wish was different

I wish they did a better job at putting us in touch with younger employees, close to us in age. This way we could hear advice from them and begin to see what it is really like to work there. I find people who are closer in age and who have just recently graduated college to begin their first job to be much more relatable than anyone else at the company.

Advice

Look into hiring younger workers at Corporate. Best Buy is a wonderful, family-like company that I would love to work at if I was a bit older and had a family to care for as well. However, I am young recent graduate who is looking for other employees in the same situation as people to hang out with and relate to. If Best Buy could begin to make their workforce younger, they could attract much more high-end talent fresh out of school, and they will probably fall in love with the company and stay for many years.

Clear structure and more backing from management. If a client blows up on an employee its usually not the employees fault but we have to act as if it is and if we don’t the managers will take the side of the customer everytime
