I loved my research mentor, she was very friendly and kind.

Undergraduate Research Assistant
June - September 2019 • Seattle, WA
What I liked
I liked how my role forced me to use my learning from C.S. courses and integrate them in real-world ways. I was able to explore a research space that I hadn't known about before, and I got a glimpse of what it would be like to pursue a path in academia/research.
What I wish was different
I wish that my project had been a little more collaborative. Everyone else on my team was remote and a grad student or professor, so I worked mostly on my own.
Advice
Don't be afraid to ask questions if you can't figure something out. Also, explaining and documenting your ideas thoroughly is key for effective collaboration.
