“During the summer, I enjoyed creating supportive and encouraging friendships among my Orientation staff members. Being strangers during the interview process, these individuals grew to be the best friends and leaders on the UCSB campus. They were teammates who were willing to work hard, empathize with others, and push themselves as well as others to be the best they can be. Through the internship, I was able to grow alongside these individuals through the challenges and learning experiences we had. Another aspect I enjoyed about working on Orientation staff was the amount of self-awareness I developed over the course of the summer. I felt I was able to learn more about myself as a person as well as understand how to best work with others, which I found was most valuable.”
