The Cloud Dancers Foundation

About The Cloud Dancers Foundation

The Cloud Dancers Foundation is a registered 501(C)(3) charity founded by Robina Asti, a WWII transgender veteran recognized as the oldest living active pilot in 2020 (at 99 years old!) and was credited with changing the Social Security Administration's rules on survivorship benefits for trans people.

Cloud Dancers supports transgender people 35+ by granting their wishes and telling their stories. By bringing visibility to this often-overlooked group, we know that we are inspiring and bringing hope to the next generation of transgender people.

Robina and Cloud Dancers have been featured in The New York Times, ABC News, OUT Magazine (OUT100 Honoree), and NPR.

Reviews

Content Intern

June 2021 - August 2021 San Diego, CA
“I had a great experience working with The Cloud Dancers Foundation. The Cloud Dancers are a small nonprofit that is just getting started, so being one of their first interns allowed me to learn a lot about how any organization may aim to grow, develop a following, create its image and mission, and more. Everyone on the team was very friendly, and very flexible due to the current unpaid aspect of the internship (supervisors are very understanding of other jobs, commitments, etc). I would recommend this internship to anyone interested in the nonprofit sector, specifically with a focus on LGBTQ+ issues.”

Social Media Intern

“I loved my time with the CDF. I learned a lot of social activism and content creating. This foundation is ran by two people who truly care for the cause and you can see that in the work and time they invest. This internship was both helpful and challenging but still very realistic and honest, in that I never felt pressured with harsh due dates. Paige and Erik are wonderful people and I am so thankful I got to work with them and the CDF. ”
