“Coming into my internship, I was assigned a mentor in the company in addition to my hiring manager. They were both critical to my success at Samsung. They not only taught me the industry & workings of the company but used their positions of power to schedule one-on-one meetings for me with executives, the C-suite and employees on different teams. This gave me great exposure and I was able to network and even take on some work outside of my original job description based on what connections I had made and what had interested me. Before applying, I had done my research and found that Samsung was rated by WayUp as one of the top internship programs so I had this idea that Samsung really wanted their interns to gain the most out of their experiences. However I was still so surprised at how much they were willing to invest in me. I was able to travel as an intern to a week long conference in Dallas, I was able to work on a dark project (after signing multiple NDAs), I got to present to the CEO & SVP of marketing, I got to run focus groups and decide on messaging for the launch of a new product. I participated in the women's leadership group within the company, attended a volunteer day and "unpacked" events - which are launch events to the press and finally I received A LOT of Samsung swag. ”
