It was great way to gain hands on experience and practical life skills. And the different workshops every week really helped with resume building and job application resources.

Youth Energy Specialist

What I liked
At the Rising Sun Center for Opportunity, I really felt like I was making a difference in my community by helping low income homeowners reduce their environmental impacts. Rising Sun also takes a focus on professional development, taking time to train it's employees in career skills that prepare them for the working world.
What I wish was different
I would hope to return to a more administrative position if I continued to work with Rising Sun. The Youth Energy Specialist position is good for those in high school but isn't the best fit for someone in college such as myself.
Advice
Rising Sun is an excellent place to develop one's communication and customer service skills, be ready to meet and work with various clients in their homes.
