What I liked
The Physical Therapists and PT-Aides were so helpful and informative! It was a really welcoming environment! Also the patients were very helpful as well because they knew I was still learning so they made sure I was also comfortable with their rehabilitation programs.
What I wish was different
I had to stop volunteering due to an injury that had me stay off my feet for 2 months so I wish I volunteered longer. Other than that I don’t wish anything had been different since I personally had a great experience!
Advice
I reached out to a newer physical therapy office near my town during this past winter break which allowed me to talk to the office coordinator and plan out when I can volunteer during the summer. So communication in this field is the number one piece of advice I would share about this experience because I learned a lot within a short period of time since everyone communicated with each other! Also if you do not understand something, do not be afraid to ask because this is how you learn.
