“I was stationed in the general pediatrics unit at Hackensack Meridian Health. I loved how I got the first hand experience to see “days in the life of a child life specialist“. I want to peruse a profession as a child life specialist in the near future.. these specialist are support systems for patients and their families. Make the pediatric patients more comfortable in the hospital setting and ensure a happy, healthy, safe environment for them to get their minds off of the negatives as to why they are in the hospital. My daily tasks were to: clean and sanitize all toys patient has touch to ensure no germs are spread, visit patients rooms and bring toys, arts and crafts, and ensure that the pediatric playroom and teen lounge were organized and clean. I loved helping these kids and making sure they were happy 24/7. ”
