What I liked

Friendly people, who I got to meet in-person (work from home hybrid schedule was flexible). They were open to teaching interns new things; they didn't instantly assume that the interns were experts from day one. Eventually I got to do process calculations, design work, and on-site inspections, which were vital and meaningful tasks needed for their respective projects.

What I wish was different

I wish I had started in May instead of June, so it could have lasted longer.

What I liked

The work environment was fantastic. Everyone that I interacted with on a daily basis was always more than willing to help me out when I was in need of assistance. They also tried their best to keep me busy.

What I wish was different

There were times where I wished I could have been out in the field more. However, by staying in the office I was able to gain more experience with writing reports as well as becoming more experienced in AutoCAD. These are two skills that I will definitely need in the future.

Advice

If you are worried that you aren't qualified, just take a deep breath and relax. I felt very nervous and unsure that I was qualified to do what was asked of me when I started. This was not the case. Everyone in the office was understanding and didn't just throw me work on the first day with no instruction. They eased me into it and my ability to learn carried me through.
