As long as you do what your boss tells you to do, you're golden; everybody happy. Try to go "the extra mile" and help certain customers with their things. You might earn a raise and earn even more money...

Distribution Management Intern

May - August 2019 • Milton, PA

What I liked

Management was willing to go out of their way to help you.

What I wish was different

As my first internship, it was an overview so I got a lot of exposure which was extremely benefical in my case. For someone who is a Junior or Senior, they should offer specialized internships.

Advice

Bring a notepad. I would go through at least two pages of note taking a week.

Sales Associate

June 2016 • Elmira, NY

What I liked

The scheduling is flexible and my coworkers and immediate supervisors are great to work with.

What I wish was different

The location leaves a lot to be desired and we get a lot of rough customers. There's high turn over. Additionally, there is a prevalent feeling in the workplace that corporate doesn't care about individual branches or employees.

Advice

Be positive and don't mind the people who aren't.

Grocery Stocker

June 2016 • Plains, PA

What I liked

It's a pretty easy job. I know what is expected of me and am able to do my job effectively.

What I wish was different

It gets repetitive and boring at times but there is not much that can be done to change that.

Advice

Get close with your managers; they can help you out with a lot of things and make your experience better if you're friendly with them.

Grocery Stocker

June 2021 • Bangor, PA

What I liked

I like the friendly atmosphere Weis Markets provides as it puts both the customers and employees at ease. Also, I like the patience and understanding of my fellow employees when I'm not sure if I'm doing a task correctly as it greatly helps me.

What I wish was different

I don't think I wish anything to be different.

Advice

One piece of advice I would share about my experience is to always ask questions. There have been many times during my shift where I would be asked by my employers to do a certain task only for me to point out that to them that I don't know what they're asking me to do. So when in doubt always ask questions no matter how ridiculous they may sound as it will definitely help you any career in the long run.
