The professor I was working with was very invested in pushing me to learn new skills. He made sure I had all my questions answered in a timely manner, and also took in my feedback on solutions to problems that arose.

The community was very nice. Everyone was on board with you learning research techniques as well as becoming independent.

Do not be afraid to ask questions. You are there to work, yes, but you're also there to learn/

What I liked

With a hybrid work environment, I was able to maintain my own schedule, while still hitting marks, and completing tasks on time.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more time in the beginning to foster my understanding of the two projects I was working on.

The benefit of research experience was very much dependent on the amount of effort that I put in.

What I liked

I enjoyed the flexibility and people that I worked with a lot. The tasks were interesting and I learned a lot about different technologies.

What I wish was different

Covid; I would've loved to be in person more, but I obviously understand why that's not possible.

Advice

Communicate with your supervisor, because that makes all the difference.
